Observation:
A new seedling from the cross 'Dyuzhina' × 'Ratatouille' (seedless) — designated 104/6. Its second full fruiting is expected in 2026. The seedling was selected based on its external appearance and superior flavor.
The growth vigor is very high. The vine matures early—even before the berries ripen. The clusters weigh 600–1000 g and range in color from red to dark red. The flowers are perfect (bisexual); over two years of fruiting, there has been absolutely no instance of "pea-berry" formation (poor fruit set).
The berries average 7 g, with some being even larger. The level of seedlessness is impressive: the largest berries contain only two rudimentary seed traces, similar to those found in American seedless (kishmish) varieties. The flesh is pleasantly meaty and crunchy, with a flavor reminiscent of "Ratatouille"—featuring notes of fruit and caramel.
No berry cracking was observed during the testing period. The variety is suitable for transport and exhibits high resistance to fungal diseases. The ripening period for 104/6 is approximately 130 days (7–10 days earlier than 'Alisa' or 'Shchelkunchik'). Its cold hardiness is at least –23°C (further testing is required for a more precise assessment).
When compared to classic American seedless grape varieties (such as Alice, Timko, Shchelkunchik, and Carlita), this seedless variety is on par in terms of cultivation characteristics—including growth vigor, hardiness, ease of management, and the degree of seedlessness—yet it offers a significantly superior flavor profile.
