Observation:
Yellow Giant is a new variety bred by Viktor Mikhailovich Kalugin. Its second full fruiting season is expected in 2026. The variety is vigorous and highly productive; each shoot bears two huge flower clusters, with plenty of additional berries forming on laterals and tendrils.
The cluster is very large, averaging 1.5–2 kg or more. It has an attractive appearance and is not overly dense. The berries weigh around 12 g and are a rich yellow color. The flavor features Muscat notes and crisp flesh; the eating quality is outstanding.
The flower is bisexual, and there is no shot-berrying. No berry cracking occurred after heavy rains. The variety is early-ripening (maturing a week before Arcadia) and has excellent market appeal.
