Observation:
A variety bred by Alexander Vasilyevich Burdak produced its first fruiting in 2025 on the PP 101-14 rootstock. The maturity date remains to be confirmed, but it's definitely no later than early-mid-season, possibly closer to early.
The vines have strong growth and ripen well. They also produce a high fruiting rate, with 2-3 clusters per shoot, plus additional fruit on the side shoots. The clusters are very large, weighing 700-1400 g; several clusters on long prunings weighed over 2.4 kg.
The berry is elongated, purple, and weighs 16-18 g. It would seem that there are plenty of similar-looking varieties available (Rambo, Black Crystal, Alpha, etc.), but Baroness Burdaka stands out for its excellent taste. It's not a Muscat, but the rich harmony and consistency of the flesh remind me of Suzanne (bred by V.M. Kalugin). A very tasty berry.
It withstood all the rain without a single cracked berry. It's coping well with the heavy harvest. We'll see what happens in 2026, but the shape is promising.
